Epilepsy affects 1 in 26 people. It can happen to any one of us, at any time, at any age.  In the United States approximately 3 million people have epilepsy with 200,000 new cases diagnosed each year. In North Carolina, approximately 371,400 people have epilepsy. One in 10 of us will have a seizure at some time in our lifetime. An affiliate of the national Epilepsy Foundation, the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization. It is supported solely by the generosity of the community to serve families affected by epilepsy.
