Help Line


The Foundation offers a HelpLine which is operated by the Epilepsy Information Service of Wake Forest School of Medicine. This line is directed by Patricia A. Gibson who set this service up in 1979. Ms. Gibson was internationally recognized by the International League Against Epilepsy and the International Bureau for Epilepsy in 1993 for her efforts to improve the social care of those with epilepsy  and has received numerous other awards including the Kiffin Penry Award for Excellence in Epilepsy Care given by the American Epilepsy Society, and the national “Art of Listening” Award by the Alliance of Genetic Support Groups.  The Epilepsy Information Service has taken more than half a million calls from across the country.
